RENUAR, JIN CHUN TSAI 68, GOLDEN WAVE (also known as GEUMMI 305) and one of the PRANTALAYs have left the anchorage and are assessed to be used by pirates as motherships; no positions at this time, but RENUAR maybe heading to Arabian Sea. No current position for the RENUAR is available.

At 201023UTC / 20 JAN 11 / a merchant vessel was reported under attack by 1 skiff in position 14 56N 059 14E. 1 skiff, with 4-5 POB, weapons were fired upon the vessel. A mothership was reported in vicinity and identified as MV GOLDEN WAVE.
***This vessel managed to evade hijack***

This morning, EU NAVFOR received the confirmation that the South-Korean fishing vessel GOLDEN WAVE (formerly named KEUMMI 305) has been pirated off the Kenyan coast on Saturday 9 October 2010.
